Sustainable wedding dress trends are in! You don’t have to sacrifice your eco conscious values for fashion because Amy Mair prides herself on being a sustainably sound and an eco friendly wedding dress brand. “At Amy Mair Couture, we have pledged to become a fully sustainable and ethical brand,” Mair’s website stated.
You will find nature is a big portion and inspiration for many of Mair’s wedding dress designs. It seems only fitting to be eco-friendly when incorporating so many natural details.
The team of designers Mair works with are all local and work in their own Atelier in Wales. Her team may be small but hugely talented all local to Wales. By having a small team they are able to achieve artisan quality workmanship and traditional couture production with hand-finished details.
There are no factories when it comes to Mair’s materials. Their creation process involves hand made wedding gowns designed with care over time by using British and European fabric suppliers ending with a sustainably made wedding dress.
“Our pledge to reuse, reduce, and recycle is very important to our brand. We have pledged to recycle at least one dress from each collection per year and we recycle all of our fabric offcuts,” Mair’s website stated.
Mair takes her sustainable pledge one step further by buying fabric consciously; only buying what they need and keeping offcuts to be reused or packed up for the bride to keep.
Amy Mair's “no waste policy” means the team donates all unused samples to a local charity where the dress will be bought and worn by a bride to be.
By being a small business, Mair and Mair’s team are in complete control of the quality of their gowns. They pledge to use only fabrics sourced in the UK and Europe and they even offer an ethically made, vegan alternative to silk.
ALL ARE WELCOME, CELEBRATED + ACCEPTED.
