Shopping for a wedding dress in South Jordan is an exciting part of planning your wedding. Often, the hardest part is narrowing down your choices and making a final selection. Once you make that final selection, however, you need to schedule your fittings.
Sometimes it’s obvious that a bridal dress needs alterations. The skirt or the sleeves may be too long or the waist may be too big. At other times, you may think your wedding dress fits adequately. When you go for your first fitting, the seamstress will have you wear the shoes and undergarments you will wear on your wedding day, then she will pin the dress in all the places it needs altering. This usually takes about an hour.
When you come for your second fitting, the seamstress will check to see if the alterations she made look right. She may ask you to come back for several more fittings. Your final wedding dress fitting will be a week or so before the wedding.
Besides making alterations so the dress fits perfectly, your seamstress can make alterations to your preferences. These may be for modesty, such as adding sleeves or a panel to the front or back of the wedding dress, or they might be embellishments, such as sewing on beads or appliques. Also, if your gown has a train, your seamstress will add a bustle to the back of your dress.
